Handmade Jewellery on the Rise

There's nothing more enjoyable to me than making handmade jewellery. The beaded jewellery industry is hugely popular right now and I'm not all that surprised. There are some really talented jewellery makers out there that can make wonders with beads of any kind.

Just a few years ago I could only find beaded jewellery in fairs and flea markets, and there were no stores in my area that sold beading supplies. Now there's beaded jewellery at major jewellery stores and malls around the country, and bead shops are popping up everywhere. It's fabulous! The beaded jewellery industry ranges from funky, artisan items to high end jewellery. And as a jewellery designer myself, I can now find suppliers who carry huge varieties of materials. This makes it easier for me to create the designs I think up without limitations.

I recently discovered etsy.com and it is my new favorite thing. I love that everything you find there is carefully hand crafted by artistic people who enjoy working with their hands. It feels great to buy something and support an individual artist instead of a huge store or chain. I have my own etsy shop, joanniel.etsy.com and I love being able to sell my jewellery to a community of people who appreciate handmade art.

I am currently in the process of ordering more supplies and will be adding lots of different handmade items to my etsy shop in the coming weeks and months. I had business cards and labels made and I'm very excited about my new shop. If you're on the lookout for some unique and original jewellery, I invite you to come visit my etsy shop at joanniel.etsy.com

If you have yet to discover etsy.com I'm telling you it's really worth the visit. There are handmade items you never would have thought to look for. It's really quite unique and a very friendly community of people. So check it out. You'll be glad you did.
